Ovi Store to Get Facelift - store.ovi.mobi

Nokia's Ovi Store is looking like a bright spot for the Finnish OEM. The Ovi Store is approaching 1 million downloads per day, according to Nokia spokesman Chris Morse.

Morse echoed statements made by Nokia's vice president of product, media, George Linardos, at roundtable with journalists in London yesterday. The Ovi store has seen 100 percent month-over-month growth recently, Morse says. The Ovi Store sells applications, as well as content, including wallpapers and ringtones.

Morse says the store will get a complete revamp in the spring, adding that the changes are a natural evolution of the store. Nokia will continue to roll out different iterations of the store going forward as the outlet matures.

The Ovi Store launched in May to a host of problems. In fact, the site operated so poorly that it prompted a public statement from the Ovi team that apologized for disruptions due to "extraordinarily high spikes of traffic that resulted in some performance issues for users accessing store.ovi.com. and store.ovi.mobi."
